Darth Skippy a Star Wars Fan.png

"Darth Skippy" is not just a name that is known as a Star Wars Collector, but known as a Music Artist, Digital Artist, Podcaster, Collectible Seller, and overall Online Personality

His passions for Star Wars, Sci-Fi, Pop Culture, Music, and Creativity run deep and have since he was a child.  Here is where you will find all things "DARTH SKIPPY".  There is a lot to take in.  Enjoy.

Who is Darth Skippy...? Well, we guess that means that we must take you back to when he was first blessed into the world of Star Wars and saw his first movie "The Empire Strikes Back". He was right at the age of five years old and still remembers it very vividly.  His Dad had taken him to see his first movie.  After seeing it...he was hooked.  Star Wars Fan for life.  Like many he has loved the Galaxy Far, Far, Away for a very long time, and probably will until he draws the last breath in this world.

Darth Skippy (A.K.A. Kenny Marine) was born in July of 1976.  He has always been a Sci-Fi geek, and most of his true friends have as well.  Now in his mid 40's he still loves Star Wars.  Coming up DS didn't have any brothers or sisters, so he had to use his imagination.  His parents divorced when he was six years old, and it was lonely and confusing for a time.

He knew that he ALWAYS had his Star Wars through thick and thin.  So needless to say, he has been collecting for a very long time.  Being that kind of weird geeky kid, he also got into weird and unusual music as well as becoming a proficient multi-instrumentalist.  He played in bands as a drummer, bass player, guitar player, keyboard player, or whatever was needed at the time.  He played in bands throughout the Louisville, Kentucky area, and was involved in the creation of a Hardcore Band called "The Four Rose Society" in the budding 1980's / 1990's hardcore scene in Louisville.  He has been in bands or played with so many musicians throughout his musical career.  In his own words “It has been an adventure to say the least”.

He has loved music and Sci-Fi for almost the same amount of time.  So naturally in the 2000's he started a Sci-Fi Rock Band called Clowncar with a great friend and fellow musician Derek Carpenter.  Derek is also the person who gave him the nickname of "Skippy".  Remember that it will come into play later.  Derek and DS played together in bands together before the formation of Clowncar and would go on to play together in that project for almost six years.  Truly a lot of fun.  They had songs about episodes of Star Trek, Darth Vader, Planet of the Apes, Alien Abduction, West World, and whatever else they could think of.

During this time, mind you, he had been writing and recording electronic instrumental music.  Under the "Skippy The Machine" alter ego.  It was a way for him to get some musical release through creation of his own instrumentals.  He has been a HUGE fan of and influenced by John Carpenter, Vince Dicola, Harold Faltermeyer, and the 80's synth sound for a very long time.  That is where his style came from and it still lies there today.

But as in life everything turns a page and in 2013 he became a business owner.  He started a business called "Kentucky Hot Brown Pedalboards, LLC".  Making cool handmade pedalboards and accessories for fellow musicians out of some of the finest woods available.  That business is still going strong today and has spawned other businesses.  One of which being "Darth Skippy's Collectibles".
With Darth Skippy's Collectibles he buys and sells toys as well as collectibles.  There is a lot of Star Wars stuff...not surprising right?!  There is also a lot of Pop Culture items that he sells as well.  He has G.I. Joe, Back to the Future, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Lego, Funko Pop, Vintage Action Figures, X-Men, Marvel, DC, Hot Wheels, and pretty much anything he can get his hands on.  It is a lot of fun, and he loves finding something and passing it on to another collector.  It is something that truly brings him joy.  Plus, he loves talking toys.

Remember we said that "Skippy" thing would come back into the fold?  Well, he eventually added the "Darth" prefix to Skippy and that is where "Darth Skippy" comes from, and of course he changed his alter ego to match for his musical projects to "Darth Skippy The Machine".  He has turned his music, love of Sci-Fi, and Star Wars into a thriving business.  He passed the love of Star Wars & Sci-Fi on to his kids, and has influenced many others to do the same.  As he would say "I guess my work is done here".  Please be sure to check out the entire site and enjoy yourself.

“Thank you for taking the time to read this little blurb about me and who I am.  I really appreciate it.”  “Take care and the remember..."The Force Will Be With You...Always".
